Good afternoon.

I've noticed there is now the option to have a blog. I've tried clicking the checkbox under settings on my websites admin page but after i click 'save changes' it becomes unticked.

What am I doing wrong and how do I go about starting my blog??

We do have an update currently in testing, which addresses this issue. It should be released shortly :)
